I love dark and bold colors, and I think that a nursery can look really elegant and sophisticated by using dark colors. This featured nursery from Project Nursery was actually designer for a baby girl, so that shows you that bold colors are not always just for boys, I would say that this nursery could be easily a gender neutral nursery.
